Holy crap, I'm leaving in, like, seven hours...it's been a crazy past few days. Quick post before I go to bed.
So, Wednesday was cool. Watched The Dawn Patrol, which was good, and then chilled for the afternoon. Dad, Quinn, and I met my aunt and grandmother for dinner at Coppola's, which was awesome and very fun. And that was basically it.
Today was cool. Watched Brigadoon, which was...interesting. Not my kind of musical, but cute nonetheless. My uncle came over to measure the garage doors, because we're getting the bottom panels replaced. Then, I chilled for a while, and then Mom came home, and she paid some bills, and then we started out on our errand run. First, to the bank, then to Enterprise, which took forever. But, finally, we got the rental car (a Hyundai Elantra, which is cool), and then we went over to Target for a few things.
Then, we drove home, dropped off the Buick, and Mom drove us (you can't rent/drive a rental until you're 18) to AC Moore, where we got some icing, then to Best Buy for a camera battery, then to Costco for Nutella and trail mix. And then, we headed home, ate dinner, watched the news, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and even some of The Big Bang Theory, and then I let Ella out, and Dad and I watched the last hour of RV, which was funny.
And then, I started packing, which really didn't take me that long. I guess I got some practice when I did the speed-packing for Oriental. Haha. Anyway, so I packed most everything, which the exception of a few shirts, my pjs, and my toiletries, which I will pack in the morning after I get ready. By the way, I'm getting up at 4:30 in the morning, getting ready, packing, then leaving at 6:30. And then it's a full day (like, probably 10 or 11 hours) of sitting in the car, with a couple of stops for food and gas and the like throughout. Should be interesting. But, I saw an iPod USB port in the rental car, so I'm dying to try that out and see if it works. And go through all the satellite radio channels.
Anyway, hopefully I'll post something Saturday night or Sunday, and then maybe again on Monday, for Independence Day. Okay, I better sign off and try to at least get some sleep. Not that I have to, because I could really sleep in the car if I had to/wanted to (and I probably will)...

One More Post For Today...
So, I know this is, like, two posts in one day, but today's previous one was really not about me in any way, shape, or form. So, here we go.
Monday was normal. Watched Bell, Book, and Candle, which was pretty cute, but I really should have waited to see it either during October/November (what with the witch theme) or December (what with the Christmas theme). But, it was still cute. And then, I chilled around the house until Mom got home, and we made meatloaf for dinner. And then she left, Dad came home, I finished making dinner, and then we ate and watched, of all things, Disney Channel.
And then, I washed the dishes, and we all went downstairs to play Mario Kart after that. Which was actually pretty fun. My dad calls himself the "King of 3rd Place" now...lol. And then, I let Ella out, Dad went to bed, Mom came home, and we had a snack, and then watched some tv and went to bed.
Today was pretty nice, too. I got up, got ready, and went downstairs. And I decided on Dial M for Murder as my movie for the day. And oh my gosh, it was so good. I've only seen one other Hitchcock film before this one, and it isn't one of the more famous ones, so this was technically my first big Hitchcock film. And oh how I wish I could describe it to you, but 1) it would take way too long, and 2) I would be spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it (aka, all of you who read my crazy blog). So, anyway, I loved it.
So, I finished up, with that, then had lunch, and chilled for the afternoon. Mom got home, we had a snack, and then Quinn and I went up to Petsmart for some things for Ella. And then, we basically just hung around for the afternoon. Tonight is just going to be chilling out, watching tv, eating dinner, washing the dishes, watching Pretty Little Liars (yay!), letting Ella out, and that's about it.
Okay, so I just realized, this is my 200th post...yay! Anyway, not really that important. Okay, so I wanted to sit here and do something a little different...aka pictures and videos that I like and all that jazz. Probably going to be a little random, but whatever.
So, I think I almost cried during this scene. Or pumped my fist in the air and yelled, "Yes!" Or did something. Like, seriously, Aria and Ezra are my favorite couple (okay, so the teacher/student relationship thing is still a little...wrong?....but Emma had the most amazing explanation for Miss Cathy when we were in Oriental, so it could technically be excused)...and how could you ever think of breaking them apart?
Okay, so I really, really like this cake. I think it's the colors...
Go to this link... http://thebloggess.com/2011/06/and-thats-why-you-should-learn-to-pick-your-battles/ Seriously, I thought it was hilarious. Although I guess it's more for the adults, especially the married ones. But, I can relate.
Okay, one more, then I promise I'll sign off. But, I just love, plinky, twenties piano music...and besides, the Astaire siblings, Fred and Adele, singing, with George Gershwin on the piano? I don't think it can get any better.
Okay, I'm done. Hopefully, I'll have time to post something Thursday night before we leave out for Buffalo on Friday morning. And I'm taking my laptop with me, so I should be able to post while I'm on vacation, too.

Oh, How I Wish I Was Rich - Part 2
Again, I'm back to rambling on about stuff that probably no one but me cares about...but whatever. My blog, my rules.
Anywho, I wanted to come back to all the pretty costumes in Debbie Reynolds collection. So, apparently, I wasn't paying attention and missed the auction, which I think happened on June 18th. So, I wanted to at least get back on here and put down the actual dollar amounts that each item I featured went for.

So, I wanted to at least get back on here and put down the actual dollar amounts that each item I featured went for.
Arabian-style test slippers worn by Judy Garland for the first two weeks of filming on The Wizard of Oz. Estimated at $120,000 to $150,000. Went for $627,300.
Olivia de Havilland's blue dress in The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex. Estimated at $4,000 to $6,000. Went for $6,150.
Sailor suits worn by Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra in Anchors Aweigh. Estimated at $8,000 to $15,000. Went for $18,450 (for Frank Sinatra's) and $33,825 (for Gene Kelly's).
Ginger Rogers' gold dress from The Barkleys of Broadway. Estimated at $8,000 to $12,000. Went for $9,840.
Blue dress worn by Debbie Reynolds in the "Good Mornin'" number in Singin' in the Rain. Estimated at $20,000 to $30,000. Went for $33,825.
Audrey Hepburn's "Ascot Races" dress from My Fair Lady. Estimated at $200,000 to $300,000. Went for $4,551,000. (Yes, over four million dollars.)
Leslie Howard and Norma Shearer's costumes from Romeo & Juliet. Estimated at $20,000 to $30,000 apiece. Went for $24,600 apiece.
Julie Andrews' dress from The Sound of Music. Estimated at $6,000 to $8,000. Went for $55,350.
And Marilyn Monroe's subway scene dress from The Seven Year Itch. Estimated at $1,000,000 to $2,000,000. Went for...drumroll, please...$5,658,000.
So, I think a lot of stuff sold for way over the estimated price. Man, I wish I could own something like that...a piece of history, you know? So cool. Anyway, I'll get back on here later and do some recapping...not that there's much to recap. Maybe I'll post some music or something instead.

Short Post...Because I Feel Like It
Well, I guess I really should get on here, and keep up with this steady stream of posting. However, this really is not such a good idea, because I'm just starting to get over this cold that I managed to catch Thursday/Friday, and I probably shouldn't be staying up so late to do this. But, whatever.
So, anyways, basically it's been pretty normal over here. The only movies I've been able to watch have been Tokyo Joe (which was decent) and The Major and The Minor (which was absolutely so darn cute...I mean, Ginger Rogers posing as a half-fare 12-year-old on a train? Pretty cool.) So, really, it's been me resting up from the Oriental trip, and just chilling out. Well, and chugging down medicine...I think my defenses were down after go-go-going so much in Oriental, that it just got me when I came home. But, I'm starting to feel better, so hopefully, it'll get out of my system soon.
I have been running errands, though. On Saturday, Mom, Quinn, and I went to Kohl's, the mall (I found the most adorable outfit at Forever 21 that I'm wearing to my cousin's graduation party in NY), the Sprint store, the grocery store, Rite Aid, etc. And then, we came home and had a late Father's Day dinner, since they postponed it because I was out of town with Emma on the real Father's Day. And that was pretty much it.
On Sunday, Mom and I did our weekly grocery shopping trip, and then we had bruschetta for lunch, which was amazing. Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil (which was from our own little backyard veggie garden) on toasted bread...it was so good. Then, we ran a couple of errands...out to Target and Cato's and then we stopped at Krispy Kreme for doughnut sundaes, which they've been selling for years, but we've somehow never gotten around to trying them. And oh my gosh, they were really good. Not as good as just having a plain glazed doughnut, but really good nonetheless.
And then, we came home, Mom stitched a couple of shirts for me, and then we made dinner. We ate, then gave my dad his Father's Day cards, and then watched Good Luck Charlie. And then, I went downstairs to clean Ella's cage while Mom and Quinn watched Tron: Legacy, which Quinn said was pretty good. And Dad and I watched/laughed our way through a Bigfoot-hunting show, which was really weird. And that was pretty much it for the evening.
Not much going on this week...but I'm still going to be pretty busy. I have a ton of stuff to do before we leave for Buffalo on Friday morning. Mom wants to leave the house at around 6:30 in the morning, so that should be interesting. But yeah, I have to get to working on some lists of what I want to take, because I am sure to forget something if I don't.

Finally Back Home...
Hello again, dear readers. I am finally back home, resting up and relaxing, after a quite impromptu trip. Here's how Friday went down:
We went to the Farmer's Market with my aunt. She got a ton of stuff...I think we decided on tomatoes and some snickerdoodle cookies. Then, we dropped her off, and headed to Mrs. Pumpkins to pick up something for lunch. So, meanwhile, Emma and I have been texting, and she mentioned that they're moving their store, Nautical Wheelers, to a new location. And I said I could help. It started out as joking back and forth, and then we were both like, "We could really do this." So, I asked my mom, and she said yes, and Emma asked her mom, and she said yes, and so we picked up our stuff from Mrs. Pumpkins and then ran home so I could pack.
So, if you know me, you know I spend the week before any trip writing a list of everything I am planning on packing, whether it be in my purse or my suitcase or my tote bag, so for me to pack in half an hour...that's got to be some kind of record. Anyway, I packed, then Emma arrived, and we had lunch, and then got on the road around 1:30. And Emma drove us down to Oriental, which was cool. Well, cool in the "neat" sense...her AC is broken, so we drove with the windows down. Lol. Anywho, we arrived at about 6:00, and unloaded all the Costco stuff from her car, and then had dinner and really just chilled for the evening.
Then, on Saturday, Emma and I helped sell t-shirts at the "Art on the Neuse" event, which is this big craft fair/show by the water, where different artists set up their booths and people come to shop and enjoy the live music and all that. Pretty neat. So, we did that, and then we came back to the house and chilled. And Emma went to a cross country party while I stayed home and wrote out some cards and chilled. And we had dinner and pretty much relaxed.
On Sunday, Emma worked at the store, and I basically hung around, and we chatted and had lunch, and chilled, and Emma checked people out. And I looked around for gifts for my family. Then, at closing time, we started loading shoes into boxes and putting them in the truck and bringing them to the new store, and then we had pizza for dinner, and then started unloading and setting up the shoes. Then, once we had got that basically done, we started back to the old store to start on some of the boxed shoes. So, we loaded boxes of shoes into bigger cardboard boxes, and then loaded those into the truck and unloaded them at the new store, and spent quite a while doing that. Then, we came home and really just went to bed.
On Monday, the big move started. They had tons of people helping, but it still took most of the day. I think we started at 8:30, and Will and I boxed more of the shoes, and helped out packing. And then, we went over to the new store, had lunch, and then I started with Emma on alphabetizing the shoes, but got called upon by Mrs. Wheeler to set up a bunch of merchandise in a cabinet. So, Emma had most of the shoes done by the time I got back to her, but with the help of Cathy, we finished up the shoes around 7:00, and then everyone pretty much went home. We had dinner at the house, and then Emma took Kevin home, and Will, Kara, and I had fun listening to music and watching videos on YouTube, and then Emma came home, and we went to bed.
Mrs. Wheeler let us sleep in on Tuesday, so Emma and I showed up the store at 10 or so (can't really remember), and then helped out by moving boxes and dressing mannequins and such until lunch, and then we basically (okay, so we had lunch at the house, then brought lunch back to the store for Mr. Wheeler, and then went back to the house to collect Kara and Will) headed out to New Bern. Kara and Will got their allergy shots, and then we picked up a prescription for Emma at Walmart, and then looked around at Blockbuster for a few minutes. Then, we stopped at Starbucks for smoothies, and then headed back to the store.
We ended up moving t-shirts, which went something like this: Box the kids and baby stuff. Take it back to the store. Wait for Mr. Wheeler to make a fixture run. Unload the fixtures into the new store. Set up and stock the fixtures. Bring now-empty boxes back to old store to load unisex t-shirts. Take them to the new store. Wait for Mr. Wheeler to make a fixture run...And that's where it ended, because the t-shirt fixture is this huge, wooden cubby cabinet, and Mr. Wheeler and Kara would never have been able to get it up the stairs by themselves. So, we called it a night, went back to the house, had dinner, and then hit the hay.
So, Wednesday morning, I knew my dad was coming to get me, so Emma and I got up, got ready, and then headed out to the waterfront to get the traditional picture by the water. And then, we headed back to the house, Emma changed clothes, and we went to the store. We started setting things out on the porch just as my dad and Quinn pulled in, and then Dad got a quick tour of the store, and then started helping Mr. Wheeler and Tom push/pull the fixture up the stairs. They got it, and then the kids brought up boxes of t-shirts, and Emma and I unloaded them and started stocking the shelves. And then, we did the same thing (aka, box the shirts, transfer the shirts, move the fixture, unload and stock the shirts) once again for the other t-shirt cabinet.
And then, we helped out a bit more, and then at noon, we said our goodbyes and headed out. Dad, Quinn, and I picked up McDonald's on the way through for lunch, and stopped for gas, and then basically drove back to Winston. We got home around 4:30, and Mom left for work, and then dad left to work at Catered Affairs, and I basically crashed on the couch for the evening. Watched the news, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy, got caught up on the blogs I like to read, poked around on Facebook, etc. Then, I let Ella out, and Mom and Dad came home, and we chilled for a little while before going to bed.

I Feel Like I've Been Living In The Car...
Because I've been driving all over the place this week...Olive Garden, the mall, the mall again, to babysitting, the pool, Zoe's, gas station, Gamestop, etc. Okay, so I must be really bored this month...I've been blogging a lot more than usual. Either that, or my life is starting to pick up.
Anyway, today was pretty cool. I got up, got ready, and decided to delete the movies I had recorded on the DVR, because none of them sounded terribly interesting, and you know if you record something, and you haven't watched it in a few days, you're never going to do it. So, that was my motive. Anyway, so I watched the Today show, and NBC broke in to tell me (and the rest of the world) that Anthony Weiner was officially resigning from Congress. Thank goodness. I've been so tired of all the coverage he's been getting, and quite frankly, I was tired of hearing all the "weiner" jokes.
So, they jumped back to the Today show, and I got to watch a segment on how to wear shorts, whether you're 20 or 50. The 20's age group model came out wearing an orange romper, and I immediately thought if Emma and her search for a romper, that actually fit no less, at the mall. Anyway, I turned it off just before 11, and then came upstairs and turned on my computer, and kept restarting it because of updates in a couple of programs. And then I started on my daily search for an answer to my Tumblr issue (the whole freezing up thing), and I did something, and it didn't work. Then, I got the brilliant idea to update to Internet Explorer 8 (I've been putting off updating because I updated once, and didn't really like the changes, so I downgraded back). And low and behold, it fixed the problem. So, I'll have to get used to it.
So, I did that, then had lunch, and then Mom came home, and we went to the pool for a few hours. When we came home, we cleaned up, chilled for a little while, and then went out to dinner at Zoe's, which was good. I shook it up and ordered chicken souvlaki instead of my normal chicken sandwich, and it was pretty good. And then, we stopped for gas on the way home. We got home, and pretty much went right back out to Gamestop so Quinn could get a video game, and my dad texted me from Dallas to say that he was at the mall (which is right across from his hotel) and they have all sorts of stores, and did we want him to look for anything (which we didn't), and all that good stuff.
Then, we came home, and Quinn and I played Lego Harry Potter while Mom watched (okay, so she feel asleep like five minutes in). We ended up finishing the game (which is through the fourth year), and then replayed the last level so Mom could see it. And then, we played around in the hub (aka The Leaky Cauldron), shooting spells at each other, and collecting coins and all that, and then we quit. I let Ella out, and then came upstairs while Quinn played his new video game and Mom watched Couples Retreat. And then, I washed the dishes, and then we pretty much went off to bed.
A couple of notes before I go... I will be out of town for the Fourth of July. Mom, Quinn, and I are going up to Buffalo that Friday. Saturday is my cousin's graduation party, Sunday is my grandfather's birthday, and Monday is the 4th. So, that should be pretty fun. Except that I can't drive the rental car...boo.
And I was bored and poking around on the Hanes webpage, and it hit me that Hanes is losing some great teachers this year. Mrs. Tutt and Mrs. Edge are retiring, and as I'm friends with Mr. Holbrook on Facebook, I know that he is leaving teaching to join a company that plans tours/field trips. So, Hanes is losing quite a few of its best teachers this year, and so I started back to reminiscing my middle school years...and all the details started coming back, and I realized how much fun I had at Hanes.
Okay, enough already. Anyway, tomorrow should be nice. Mom, Quinn, and I are picking up my aunt in the morning, and we're all going over to Reynolda Gardens to see about getting some veggies from their Farmer's Market. And then, we might go over to the pool for a little while. And my dad will get home around midnight. Okay, I'm tired...off to bed!

Spending Time With My Friends...
So...I have so much to talk about.
Monday - Basically was normal. I watched Summer Stock, starring Gene Kelly and Judy Garland, and actually kinda liked it, even though I don't particularly like Judy Garland. I think she might be growing on me. Anyway, and that was really it for the day, with the exception of a trip to the post office.
Tuesday - I got up, got ready, and drove out to Olive Garden. I was the first one there, and Anita came soon after, and so we went inside to put our names on the waiting list and get a buzzer. So, our buzzer eventually went off, just as Sylvia and Emma were getting out of the car, and it took them, like, forever to get inside, but whatever. So, we got seated, and ate (apparently, this is the most any of them ever seen me eat...a little bit of salad, half a breadstick, and half of a chicken alfredo pizza), and talked about everything we could possibly think of, and then, we headed across to the mall, Emma driving her car with Sylvia as a passenger, and me driving my car with Anita as a passenger, which was awesome.
So, we got there, parked near Forever 21, and spent 45 minutes shopping there. So, we had, like, fifteen minutes for Sylvia to exchange something and Emma to get a couple of tank tops at Aeropostale, and then they left. Anita and I went over to American Eagle and looked around, and then hustled it back to the TGIF entrance (after some lady oh-so-rudely cut in front of Anita in the checkout line) so Anita could get picked up, and then I grabbed a smoothie at Starbucks before heading home. And then, I really just chilled for the evening...watched the summer premiere of Pretty Little Liars, which was awesome.
Wednesday - Got up, got ready, had lunch, said goodbye to Dad (he's in Dallas on a business trip until Friday), Dad left, and then I finished getting ready and then headed back out to the mall. I got there early (typical me), and then Emma and Sylvia came, and they got lunch, and Anita came, and then we met Brittany, Sylvia's friend, and the five of us chilled for a little while at the food court, and then Sylvia and Brittany went to a consignment shop, while Emma, Anita, and I went into American Eagle.
Well, we hadn't been in there ten minutes when I get a phone call from Sylvia. I'm expecting it to be, "Oh, where are you guys going to be, so we can locate you when we get back?". Instead, I get background noise (I started to think she accidentally butt-dialed me), and then, "Oh my gosh, Aaron's here! Aaron's at the mall! I just saw him, and I told him you were here, and oh my gosh!" or something to that extent. So, he ended up texting me, and when we finished up in American Eagle, we went over to the food court to say hi.
So, anyway, after that adventure, we shopped around in Rack Room Shoes, and then met up with Sylvia and Brittany, and then we all sort of bounced around everywhere. Some of us went into one store, others went into another, then we'd meet in this store...it was crazy. We stopped at Hollister, Forever 21, Aeropostale, Aerie, New York & Co., Charlotte Russe, Delia's, Victoria's Secret, Old Navy, Adora, not in that order, and I may have missed a few stores, but whatever. You get the idea. So, I had to duck out at Old Navy, so I said my goodbyes and then headed to my aunt's to pick up my mom and brother.
And then, we headed home, and I grabbed something to eat before going out to Lewisville/Clemmons to babysit for the evening. My mom's co-worker's son is so adorable and sweet. So, we ended up putting together a small Lego set, and then he played a game on the tv, and then we watched some of Toy Story 3. And we had a snack. And then, I put him to bed, which was so easy compared to the other two little boys I babysit. Potty, brush teeth, lights out, fan on, laundry room light on, and that was it. He didn't need a story, or for me to stay with him or anything. So, I went downstairs, turned the baby monitor on, and there wasn't a peep out of him all night.
So, I was able to catch the first two periods of the Stanley Cup finals, and my dad and I were texting back and forth during the game. Apparently, there's a sports bar in his hotel, and they have a huge 10 foot by 8 foot tv screen and were showing the game on that. So, we were commenting on the game and all that, and then I texted with my mom to let her know what time she needed to pick me up, and then they got home (the parents and their daughter, whose dance recital they had attended).
And, that's when it got chaotic. Apparently, their daughter threw up in the car just as they were pulling into the driveway, so they were busy cleaning her and the car, and then Mom showed up, and I got paid, and we all talked for a little while, and looked at how big their chicks (they're starting to look like chickens) are getting, and then we headed home. And I texted with Dad on the ride home, and then I had dinner, and watched the handshakes and the Stanley Cup being presented to the Boston Bruins, and then I pretty much fed Ella and went to bed.
So, on a side note, I am really proud of myself. I went to Olive Garden, and used a gift card, got nothing at the mall on Tuesday, got a smoothie at Starbucks, and used a gift card, then got nothing at the mall on Wednesday, and made $50 babysitting Wednesday night. So, I thin I'm getting better at managing my money.
On the agenda for the next few days...nothing really. Father's Day on Sunday, but that's about it.

A Pretty Busy Weekend...
So, I haven't been on here in a few days...time for a recap, I guess.
Thursday was...normal. Watched Robin and the Seven Hoods, which was interesting. And really, just chilled for the evening. Friday was pretty normal, too, I guess.
Saturday was better. Dad and Quinn went to Danville for the day to go tanking. So, Mom and I had the day to ourselves. We ended up running errands in the morning...then went to Red Lobster for lunch. Then, we went to the pool, and I was stupid enough to get sunburned pretty bad. Three hours of floating around on a pool raft will do that to you. But, it's already getting better, so it's not too bad.
Then, we came home, got cleaned up, and went out to Target for a few things, and then came home, and had dinner while we watched Blood Diamond, which we'd both seen before. Dad and Quinn got home, and I cleaned Ella's cage, and that was pretty much it.
On Sunday, Mom and I went to the grocery store, then came home, had lunch, and then made the taco soup, which we put in the slow-cooker for the day. We basically just chilled for the rest of the day. Mom and Quinn went to the pool, but other than that, nothing much went on around here. We took some of the taco soup and cornbread over to my aunt because the recipe makes such a huge batch, and then came home and ate. And Dad and I watched tv downstairs while I let Ella out, and that was pretty much it.
Um, other stuff. I am seriously ticked off at Tumblr right now. Their new dashboard layout is causing my internet browser to freeze, which sucks. And which basically means I cannot access anything on Tumblr right not. Grr.
Our desktop computer died today. As in, we can't get it to turn back on. So, this should be interesting to see how long it takes Mom to get in touch with Summit's IT guy to see if he can do something to it so we can get in and save all of the files. Because my mom didn't think about backing up any of her files. Well, none of us do, but on a computer that old, wouldn't that be the first thing you do?
Anyway, tomorrow should be pretty relaxing. Maybe watch a movie, then when Mom comes home, we're going to run a few errands and go get my aunt's truck, so that Mom can drive it to work on Tuesday, because I need the car to meet up with Emma, Anita, and Sylvia for lunch at Olive Garden and some shopping at the mall.

Movie Milestone: 200!!!
So, today, I hit my second movie milestone...200 films! For all intents and purposes, I'm going to do my breakdown for the whole 200 films, not just my second set of 100, because it was a lot easier to just use the 'sort' feature on Excel than try to count my last 100. So, here it is...
- First film watched (of the second set of 100) was My Love Came Back (1940), and the last film watched was Ocean's Eleven (1960).
- The earliest was Ramona (1910) and the latest was Finian's Rainbow (1968).
- The longest is still Gone with the Wind at 238 minutes, and the shortest was Ramona at 17 minutes.
- My most-watched actress is still Olivia de Havilland (24 films), and my most-watched actor is Humphrey Bogart (22 films).
- The director I saw the most films by is still Michael Curtiz (10 films...see first milestone post for the first six, plus British Agent, Four's a Crowd, Virginia City, and White Christmas).
- I watched more movies made in 1938 and 1939 than any other year (15 films each).
- Of the last 100, 16 were Best Picture winners - Wings (1927/28), The Broadway Melody (1928/29), All Quiet on the Western Front (1929/30), Cimarron (1930/31), Grand Hotel (1931/32), Cavalcade (1932/33), The Great Ziegfeld (1936), You Can't Take It With You (1938), Mrs. Miniver (1942), Going My Way (1944), The Lost Weekend (1945), All The King's Men (1949), All About Eve (1950), From Here to Eternity (1953), Gigi (1958), My Fair Lady (1964).
- Twenty-seven of the AFI's Top 100 Film Quotes appeared in the movies I watched (all 200).
- I watched 159 black and white films (83 in the second 100), and 41 color films (17 in the second 100).
- I've watched a total of 43 musicals, 25 of which were in the second 100.

Oh, How I Wish I Was Rich...
So, quick recap of today, then onto my main reason for being on here again...
Today, I got up, got ready, watered the plants and veggies outside, and then watched His Girl Friday, which was pretty good. Different, but good. And then, I came upstairs and had lunch, washed the dishes, and really just chilled for the afternoon. Mom came home with white chocolate frappelattes from Mrs. Pumpkins, and I pretty much chugged mine. Haha, just kidding. But, it did go down fast.
Anyway, and then we basically chilled for the afternoon. Mom and I were looking up The Hunger Games movie, and they've cast a couple of pretty neat people...Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, and Woody Harrelson. So, we were very excited about that. And then we watched Halloweentown, and oh my gosh, I had no idea the grandmother was Debbie Reynolds...who I've seen in Singin' in the Rain and a couple of other films.
And this is where I'm able to segway into my main reasoning for this post...Debbie Reynolds is apparently an avid film memorabilia collector, and had dreams of building a museum for all of the items she's collected, but the attempts she's made have fallen through, so she's auctioning off her collection. I'd seen a couple of items when she and her daughter, Carrie Fisher (you know, Princess Leia in the Star Wars films?) were on Oprah. Today, I got online and downloaded the PDF catalog file of all the stuff up for auction, and I was totally giddy with film nostalgia and wished I had lots of money so I could buy some of these things.

Like Ruby Slippers (okay, so these aren't the actual ones...these were used for the first two weeks of filming The Wizard of Oz, then scrapped for the ones that are now in the Smithsonian). These are estimated to go for $120,000 to $150,000.
The blue dress, worn by Olivia de Havilland in The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex, is estimated at $4,000 to $6,000.
Sailor suits worn by Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra in Anchors Aweigh...$8,000 to $15,000.
Ginger Rogers wore this gold dress in her final film with Fred Astaire, The Barkleys of Broadway...estimated at $8,000 to $12,000.
Debbie Reynolds wore this blue dress herself in Singin' in the Rain, dancing alongside Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor. $20,000 to $30,000.
Audrey Hepburn's "Ascot Races" dress from My Fair Lady is expected to fetch $200,000 to $300,000.
These costumes, worn by Leslie Howard and Norma Shearer in Romeo & Juliet, are estimated to go for $20,000 to $30,000 apiece.
I've always loved this dress. Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music...this will set you back $6,000 to $8,000.
And finally, this dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch. I've never seen this movie, but I've seen the scene itself. You know, the one where the winds from the subway below lift the skirt of the dress?
This is supposed to be the big seller of the whole auction...estimated to pull in $1,000,000 to $2,000,000. Yes, that's millions.
So, right now I have this glorious dream of owning a piece of history...except I have no money. Oh, well, such is life.

Have You Heard The Story of A Boy, A Girl, Unrequited Love?
Now, I have to say, I don't normally do this. But, I felt like it today.
Today, I watched a movie called High Society. I went into it only having read the brief description and list of main actors...so basically, with no expectations. And little did I know I was going to be watching a musical remake of one of my favorite films. Y'all remember when I talked about watching The Philadelphia Story? Well, High Society is an in-color, musical remake of that, starring Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Grace Kelly.
Anyway, this afternoon, I had lunch, and then Mom got home, and I went out to Target. So, I spent about an hour and a half trying on clothes, and ended up getting a shirt, a pair of shorts, and a necklace. And I technically didn't have to pay for any of it, because Mom gave me spending money this time.
Then, Mom and I prepped for dinner, and then just chilled until she left for work. And then, I started dinner, Dad got home, we finished dinner, and then ate. We had buffalo chicken burgers with bleu cheese, lettuce, and tomato, and corn on the cob. It was all delicious. Then, we watched some tv, and I washed the dishes, and then let Ella out. And that was pretty much it.

So, Bing Crosby = Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra = James Stewart, Grace Kelly = Katharine Hepburn, and Celeste Holm = Ruth Hussey.
So, High Society will never be as amazing as The Philadelphia Story, but it was still pretty cool. Like the song called "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"...the inspiration for the title of the famous game show. And Louis Armstrong... And some really great songs, and some really silly ones...

Holding On and Letting Go...
I keep coming back on here because I don't have anything else to do...
Okay, so weekend recap. On Saturday, I got up, got ready, and then Mom and I decided to head over to the pool for a few hours, which was nice. Then, we came home, I straightened my hair (it gets wet, and curls from about my ear down, while the top part stays nice and straight...stupid hair). Anyway, then the four of us went out to Mayflower for dinner, which was good. And then, we chilled for the evening. I cleaned Ella's cage, and then Dad and I watched hockey.
Today was about the same. I got up, got ready, and then Mom and I went to the grocery store. We came home, then went to Target for a few things (I'll be returning tomorrow to do some clothes shopping...I saw this adorable dress while we were there and didn't have time to try it on). And then, we came home, and went back out, this time to the pool. And again, we stayed a couple of hours, but this time, I didn't straighten my hair, seeing as we weren't going anywhere.
So, we had spaghetti and meatballs and salad and garlic bread for dinner, and watched The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, which was just okay...but I did get to listen to an Owl City song on the soundtrack, so that was cool. Then, we just basically chilled out, and Mom, Quinn, and I watched Charlie Shakes It Up and So Random on Disney Channel while I let Ella out, and then I watched some home inspection/remodeling show with Dad, and that's about it.
A couple of things to note: I am considering working at the Wake Forest football games this coming season in Deacon Tower. My dad works there servicing suites, and he said they needed some more people since some of the other people are leaving. So, I'm considering it, as a way to make a little more money.
I'm, little by little, getting my creativity back. It's taking a while, but I'm starting to work on some of those aforementioned projects, and hopefully, in a couple of weeks, I'll be back to my full creative potential. Hopefully.
Today I scratched some of the paint off the bumper of Mom's car. Yep, my first little incident. I felt horrible. I apologized repeatedly. Mom didn't seem to care all that much that I had scratched it. She told me it was better I did it on an older car like hers than a newer car anyway. Besides, she scratched the paint off of the body just above the wheel well once (pulling into the garage whilst trying not to run over my dad's toes). Mine was just a bumper... How did I do it, you ask? Backing out of the garage. Yep, freaking back out of the garage, something I do every freaking time I pull out of the driveway. I obviously had my mind on other things, and turned the wheel a second too early. Oh well, nothing too serious.
I want to take on paragraph and complain for just a moment. Please feel free to skip to the next section. My brother is taller than I am...by a lot. Which sucks, considering I'm three and a half years older. I have teeny tiny feet (hey, I guess the good side to that is if I'm ever a real-life Cinderella, Prince Charming won't have any problem finding the owner of that glass slipper. Haha.). Speaking of Prince Charming, he still hasn't found me yet. (Okay, I'm starting to sound like some lovesick puppy or something...don't know why I'm doing that.) I'm having one of those life-decision moments where I have to decide whether I should keep hoping and holding on or just let him go and move on. And as of late, there have been some...developments of sorts...and I can't decide if it's a sign or if I'm just an idiot.
Anyway, back to actual life. I found the most awesomest pictures online...and only Robyn will understand why I love them so much, because she's the only one who has seen this film.
Aka, behind-the-scenes pictures from Swing Time. I've seen pictures of the snow set from that movie, but never the "Pick Yourself Up" scene. My only question is...where's Ginger?
Okay, I really should shut up already. I've been typing for, like, forever. By the way, I'm titling the post after a song I've fallen in love with...Holding On and Letting Go by Ross Copperman. It was on the CSI: NY season finale a few weeks ago, and so I bought it off of iTunes. That, and High School Never Ends by Bowling for Soup, and Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae, and Supergirl by Saving Jane, and a bunch of others. :)

It's So Hot Outside...
Well, this week has been somewhat of a normal week...well, I guess it really has been just a normal week.
I was able to watch a couple of movies this week...all of which were war movies, and by the end of the week, I was kinda sick of watching basically the same thing over and over, with a little variation in each film. So, yeah, I guess it was just a bad choice on my part to record all of them. But whatever.
We were able to go to the pool on Wednesday, which was nice. It was so hot, though. Like, mid-to-upper nineties, which I think is way too hot for the beginning of June. The pool water isn't even cold when you get in... But, I've got a nice tan now, so that's cool.
Quinn and I have been playing Lego Harry Potter on his Xbox 360, and we've been having fun with that. We're almost done with the second year (out of four) already. But, we've still got a long way to go. The cut scenes are hilarious, so I always get a kick out of those.
I'm currently having tv show withdrawal. All our shows are gone for the summer, so there isn't anything to watch on tv in the evenings. I've been resorting to poking around on our music channels...which are decent, actually.
I pulled out...drumroll, please...shorts for the first time this year. It's so gosh darn hot, not that I'm outside all that much, but even the house feels warmer. So, I've been spending my week chilling in shorts (or in today's case, khaki capris) and t-shirts, and feeling very comfortable because of it. Not that my jeans weren't comfy, but the shorts are just a teeny bit nicer.
Um, what else? Not much going on. No plans for the weekend as of yet...we might go see the new Pirates movie, but I'm not sure. Probably chill at the pool a little. Life should be a little more interesting as we head into next week...Quinn and Dad are going out of town next weekend, and then Emma's coming into town the week of the 13th, I'm babysitting on the 15th, and my aunt is coming down from NY the weekend of the 17th/18th/19th (or something like that). So, a lot going on within the next few weeks, just nothing really interesting going on at the moment.
